Have been back home in Scotland for the past week. Always such a strange mix of things - family, friends, past and future. That said, I did take the opportunity to climb a bit, both outdoors and indoors. Indoors the venue of choice was Perth Climbing Centre - aka The Wa. The highpoint of this experience was Marky getting schooled on how to use a Gri-Gri. There is of course no such fool as an old one, but thankfully at least one member of the party saw the funny side, particularly when I got complimented on my belay technique.
Outdoors we went to the Limekilns, Benny Beag and Cambusbarron West. All familiar venues from two decades ago and it seemed odd to be pulling on familiar holds in great locations. Beyond these minor climbing adventures, I managed a couple of great walks. One in the evening light. The other in a rain storm. Movement is such a joy, especially in such a beautiful environment. I even managed to break into a light jog at one point.
